Wordless (Not really) Wednesday #6

I know I’ve mentioned The Big Hungry before, but, with Thanksgiving Day being tomorrow, and the way Kevin ended up with (and naming) The Big Hungry was due to a Holiday Dinner incident many years ago, I thought the timing was right for sharing.

This was taken three years before he was called to the Rainbow Bridge.

Now The Big Hungry was a stray found by one of Kevin’s good friends back in ’99. He already had a dog, so he ended up giving Hungry to his parents to keep.

That didn’t work out to well, during the hustle and bustle of getting the Holiday dinner ready (Kevin and his friend can’t recall if it was Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner), the kitchen was left unattended for mere seconds.

But that was all the time The Big Hungry needed to swipe the dinner ham and wolf down half of it before anyone returned!

That was the final straw, he was no longer welcome at the house.

Kevin found out about the incident, and through fits of laughter said: “Well he’s just a Big Hungry Puppy!”, and offered to take him on the spot!

He was called The Big Hungry ever since!

He was a great looking dog! Unfortunately he passed before my husband and I met so I never had the chance to meet him in person.

Aww. Big hungry…so cute. My dog only eats once a day. She tries to hold out as long as she can to get human food over dog food.

He was a big boy, I am reminded of a story that shares just how shocking he was to see in person. Remind me to pester Kevin to type up the story of Hungry and the Locksmith soon!

That is hilarious, and it’s the perfect name. I don’t think anyone can blame the dog, it’s the humans’ fault for not guarding the food better! I’m glad Big Hungry found a good home, great story.

I totally agree, even now I know I’m guilty of forgetting that we have a couple of counter-surfers and only after it is to late remember… always to late… well except for the one time with the cornbread batter, I did manage to save that one.
